DashPad Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
DashPad does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no third-party services. What happens on your iPad stays on your iPad.
Camera
When presence detection is on, DashPad uses the front camera to notice whether someone is in the room. Every few seconds it wakes for a moment, captures a single frame, and analyzes it on the device using Apple's Vision framework. That frame is processed in memory and discarded immediately. It is never written to disk, never saved, and never sent anywhere. When the room is dark, the camera is skipped entirely. You can also run DashPad on a fixed schedule or always-on mode, with no camera use at all.
Network
DashPad makes no network requests of its own. The only network activity is the dashboard or website you choose to load, which behaves exactly as it would in any browser. DashPad does not add tracking, telemetry, or requests to those pages.
Data stored on your device
Your settings, such as the home URL, favourites, and preferences, are stored locally on your iPad and are not synced to any cloud service. If you set an exit PIN, it is kept in the iOS Keychain and is never transmitted.
No tracking or third parties
DashPad contains no analytics, no crash reporting, and no third-party SDKs or frameworks of any kind. Because the full source code is public, anyone can verify exactly how the app behaves.
Children
DashPad does not collect any data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
